They were athletics materials worth D2,103, 465, volleyball materials worth 162, 150, handball nets costing 369, 150 and basketball poles and nets worth D1, 397, 250.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at the GNOC Bureau, GNOC president Alhaji Momodou Dibba said the items were donated by the Japanese.
Dibba expressed GNOC’s willingness to support national sports associations with materials to develop sports in the country.
Abdoulie Jallow, the second vice president of the GNOC, appealed to the beneficiaries to use the items properly.
The president of the Gambia Athletics Association, Dodou Capi Joof, said the donated items would aid them to train PE teachers and coaches, and thanked the GNOC.
The secretary general of Gambia Handball Association, Haruna Cham, described the donation as timely.
