Joint security forces on Saturday embarked on a day road run exercise organised by Glove Project with a view to building partnership with security forces in the country.

The exercise started from Serrekunda Police Station through Westfield to Manjai Police Station.

The security personnel covered 10 kilometers during the event.

Speaking to journalists at the Serrekunda Police Station, Jackie Church, the brain behind the foundation, said her organization started its activities since in January 2012 in collaboration with village communities.

She added that their intervention focuses more on poverty reduction and establishment of sustainable enterprises as well as promoting education and improving health service delivery.

According to Madam Jackie Church, Glove Project works with beneficiaries in Lower Nuimi.

She said they have done a lot of work with hospitals and the project also works in partnership with Tilly Tours to move the tourism sector.

This is not the first time they have embarked on such exercise, she said, adding that her organization has been working and partnering with the security personnel and have donated office materials like computers, printers and other items over time.

Jackie Church went on to thank the Government of The Gambia for creating the enabling environment.

She also commended the joint security personnel for participating in the exercise.
