The
Gambia Football Federation, GFF, has begun the disbursement of preparation
money to all League clubs, for the 2016-2017 domestic league Season.
All
club managers or their representative are, in fact, being duly informed of this
development, and all are urged to walk to the Football House in Kanifing to
collect their monies.
The
GFF President Lamin Kabba Bajo last month announced that the GFF executive has
unanimously agreed to support all league clubs and waive registration fees,
among others, for the new League season ahead.
The
GFF will furthermore give financial support to all the local playing grounds to
uplift the standard of their grounds.
According to the head of the GFF, the
federation would also support league and super cup champions Gambia Ports
Authority, and FF champions Brikama United, for their participations in the
2017 CAF club competitions.
Gambia
Ports Authority is expected to participate in the CAF Champions League after
clinching the 2015-2016 domestic division one league title.
Brikama
United are also set to participate in the CAF Confederations Cup after claiming
the 2015-2016 FF cup title, following their 1-0 win over rivals Bombada in the
final game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on 5 June 2016, courtesy
of striker Sainey Bojang’s second-half strike.
