If the latest report from the President of the Gambia Football Association (GFA), Seedy Kinteh is anything to lean on, the investigation surrounding the zonal final will soon be known to the public.
The taskforce, according to Seedy Kinteh, who was speaking to Pointsport in this interview, has already submitted their reports to the Gambia Football Association that is expected to decide on the matter surrounding hooliganism at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium.
"The taskforce has already submitted their reports to us and that we will look into it before finally deciding what step to take," the GFA supremo told this reporter in an interview yesterday.
The news has caused a public debate among the sporting fraternity and fans, in particular, are anxious to hear the final decision of the GFA. The latest report from the FA would soon clear doubts as to whether the decision will favour them or not.
This comes following a controversial abandonment of the final of Baby Muhammed Jammeh Perpetual Cup Competition between Serrekunda East and the defending champions Bakau on 13th December 2009, at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium as a result of violence between the two teams. The Gambia Football Association, which is the umbrella body charged with the affairs of running football in the country has since set up a special taskforce to investigate the impasse surrounding the final.
It could be recalled that the taskforce that comprises seven committee members were given an ultimatum of one week to look into this unfortunate incident.
