GFA medical personnel Kalifa Manneh yesterday commenced a two-day course on emergency equipment on sports injury at the GFA Board Room comprising different participants of various members of the first division.

Speaking to reporters before the commencement of the training, Manneh said the course was held to train participants in prevention of injuries, especially those of life-threatening situations on the pitch.

He said the cause of death of players in the field of football needs to be prevented, revealing that the training would have been a significant tool in the protection of human lives.

He added that the training was on a vocation since during the time of the previous executive, but this was the right time prescribed.

He also said sudden cardiac death is life-threatening, which needs to be prevented, saying The Gambia is not an exception and was hopeful of a successful outcome at the end of the programme.
