Buckingham reach MJM intermediate knockout final

Buckingham FC have sailed to the final in the 2015 late Modou Janneh Memorial inter-mediate knockout final after beating Manchester United FC 1-0 in the semifinal played at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field on Monday.

The palace boys and United eliminated Bilbao FC and Dortmund FC respectively in the quarterfinal games.

The palace boys beat Bilbao FC 1-0 in the quarterfinal, whilst United defeated Dortmund FC 2-1 in the quarterfinal prior to their Monday’s crucial semifinal clash.

The palace boys advanced to the final after notching in a single goal against United to snatch a place in the final.

United responded back for an equalizer and created some goal-scoring opportunities but could not break through the palace boys’ solid defence line thus the game ended 1-0 in favour of Buckingham.

United will now switch their attention to the league competition following their exit from the knockout competition after losing to Buckingham 1-0 in the semifinal.
