GAWFA Win Over D136, 000 Claim

The Gambia women Finance Association (GAWFA) recently had a judgement awarded in their favour for the recovery of the sum of D136, 322.82 from one Jainaba Sillah, the defendant.

GAWFA  instituted a civil suit against the defendant, Jainaba Sillah after several attempts to recover the said sum proved futile.

The Kanifing Magistrates' Court presided over by Magistrate B.O. Jobe ordered the defendant, Jainaba Sillah to pay the Plaintiff (GAWFA), the sum of D136, 322.82 and interest rate of 30 percent per annum. Cost of D1051.50 was also awarded to the plaintiff.

The judgement followed the defendant's acceptance of liability of the outstanding balance of the said sum.
