Lamin Mansally, aka ‘Garanty Jalo’, one of the super rising star, is currently in town to promote his music as well as release his two new singles.
Garanty Jola, as he is fondly called, started his musical career in early 1995 in the urban town of Tallinding and is regarded by many as a rising star during his musical stint.
In a brief chat with Entertainment, Garanty said he started his music career with Hamaleh G Crew with the name Fricky L and used to sing in English while adopting reggae as his style of music.
“We released a song ‘hit d sea’,” he told Entertainment.
The rising star said that in 2005 the group travelled to Switzerland, France, Spain and the UK, where most of them stayed for a while, to promote their music.
He said he decided to come back to The Gambia to release his two singles dubbed: ‘Garanty Jalo’, which is about introducing his new name and son and ‘Chufaye’.
Jola, who was not in any rush to release his album, said: “The music is not improving like the people think, we have lot of artistes but we are not doing music that are crossing the border.”
The star musician heaped blame on some music lovers for patronizing foreign artistes more than their own homegrown kith and kin artistes, which he said has contributed to the underdevelopment of music in the country.
He however urged his colleagues in the musical field to show honesty to the people and base their work on reality or quit the profession.
To the fans, Garanty Jola urges them to have patience as his unshakable songs will soon hit the airwaves.
