Gamtel Football Club of the Gambia are set to begin the Ecowas Football Tournament called Eyadema Cup Competition when they come face to face with Niary Talli at the Stade Demba Dioup Stadium in Dakar on Sunday, Pointsport can confirm.
The team, led by coach Mustapha Manneh, arrived in Dakar with 18 players looking set to enter the weekend’s contest with a victory in their mind.
Manneh and his charges that won the Super Cup final after beating Gambia Ports Authority at the beginning of this year’s GFA division one league campaign few months ago, held their first training session yesterday, as they hope to secure the desired result to finish the job right here in Banjul when they play host to Niary Tall1 in the second-leg clash in a fortnight.
The telecommunications giants, as they are widely called, were identified by the Gambia Football Association to represent the country in the Ecowas Football Championship to be played in Senegal.
