The telecommunication boys of Gamtel made a dramatic come back to snatch the much needed 3 points at the expense of formidable Samger side in their final game of the league season at Independence Stadium in Bakau on Saturday.
Huruna Jammeh capitalised on a defensive blunder to drill home his side's opener from a brilliant finish with only 3 minutes on the clock before defender Ousman Juwara smashed the ball into his own net to give Gamtel 1 - all advantage in the 6th minute of a titanic encounter.
And things turned even another defensive blunder allowing Striker Kabba Jobe to hit a brace in the 28th and 43rd minutes respectively.
Samger came out in dramatic fashion in the second period after putting up a respective performance mid way through the second half but that has proven to be a consolation courtesy of Star Striker Haruna Jammeh's spectacular 30 yard-free-kick in the 72nd minute before Buba Jallow alias (Mellez) put his name on the score sheet for Gamtel's fourth of the night in a see-saw encounter.
Speaking to reporters shortly after a titanic encounter, the head coach of Samger Jane Joof failed to put the blamed on his academy boys given the fact that Samger is a team with young players who are learning to improve on their performance noting that people should not expect much from them.
"Samger is an academic team who are trying to develop and see how best we can try to produce the best out of them and possibly started challenging for the league title and move on as a team," Jane Joof told reporters.
Sulayman Corr, head coach of the victorious Gamtel side expressed delight for collecting the much needed points at the expense of a formidable Samger Side who occasionally went close to scoring but were denied by poor finishing.
Mr Corr however expressed hope that Gamtel would put up a respective performance in the FA cup
Championship.
Meanwhile Armed Forces who were recently crowned as the league champions will wrap up their games with mouth watering encounters when they host Steve Biko on Thursday before meeting Hawks later.
Samger who also have a game in hand will meet former league champions Wallidan to wrap the 2008/09 GFA first division league championship
