Gambians Speak Ahead of Senegal Match

As the Gambia prepares for the World Cup and African Cup of Nation qualifiers on Saturday against Senegal in Dakar, yesterday Pointsports went around to sound the opinions of the people.

Lamin Faye a resident of Banjul said the match is a crucial game for the Gambia noting that the Gambia will make history this time around.

Saihou Njie also a resident of Banjul said the Gambia at this moment need prayers in order to win the match, adding that the fans should go all out to Dakar and give the Scorpions the necessary support they need.

Binta Jarjue, a resident of Bakau said that the Gambian team is a very good team. She noted that all what they need is to collect the three points. " We are proud of the senior squad and the coach, Paul Put. May God blessed the scorpions".

Eliman Bojang of Lamin said the players should avoid provocation and focus on their game "I strongly believe that this is the only way we can win".

Abdou Saine of Serekunda said the nation should pray for the success of the team come on Saturday.

Ousman Ceesay, a resident of Kotu said the Gambian players should this time around break the records by wining Senegal in order to make the whole nation proud.

Isatou Manjang of Banjul called on the private sector to contribute towards the traveling of fans to Dakar.

Adama Bah of Lamin said this year is the year for the Gambia and all what they need is to defeat Senegal and qualify for the world cup. He noted that at the moment Senegalese football is in total crisis. "The Gambia should capitalize on this situation and prepare better for the game".

Dodou Gomez of Serekunda London called on the Muslims and Christians to pray for the team before their departure to Dakar.

Sanna Manneh, for his part has called on the Gambia Football Association to ensure the security of the fan and the players.
