Choro Mbenga, Gambian female coach chosen by the Gambia Football Association to travel to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, finally left Banjul this morning to attend a weeklong Caf Female Coaching course, Pointsport can reveal.

Mbenga, who began active coaching in 2007, was also part of the Gambian women coaches that took part in a similar course in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2007 when the initiative was established four years ago and has since managed to make a huge impact after finishing among the best five participants at the end of that course.

The Gambian star coach, who helped Red Scorpions finish second in the Women National League table in four successive league seasons, also travelled to Tanzania to attend the second edition of a similar course in 2009 with some fantastic performances every Gambian was proud of.

The course is scheduled to start on Friday 3 June 2011 in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa.

Gambia Football Association official Salaam has described Coach Mbenga as an athlete who did “extremely well” in the previous courses.
