The Gambia U-20 have resumed training for their 2017 African Youth Championship qualifiers second leg tie with Sierra Leone in Banjul on 23 April 2016, at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The Darling Scorpions under the guidance of coach Omar Ceesay are set to embark on intensive training sessions at the FIFA Goal project in Old Yundum, to prepare themselves fit for the second leg clash with the Shooting Stars in the return fixtures.

The Darling Scorpions need just a draw to sail to the second round tie against North African powerhouse Morocco, following their astonishing 2-0 win over the Shooting Stars in the first leg fixtures played in Makeni, with goals from Generation Foot duo Bunn Sanneh and Abdoulie Jallow, but need to avoid heavy defeat against the Shooting Stars.

The Shooting Stars need to beat the Darling Scorpions at least 3-0 in the second leg in Banjul to advance to the second round tie with North African giant Morocco, but a defeat or a draw will see them out and the Gambia through to the second round.
