
The warm-up encounter was part of The Gambia’s U-20 team’s preparations for their crucial 2017 African U-20 Youth Championship second round second leg against Morocco on 12 June 2016, in Rabat.
The Darling Scorpions beat the Young Atlas Lions 1-0 in the first leg tie played on 21 May 2016 in Banjul.
The Darling Scorpions now need just a draw in the second leg tie against the Atlas Lions to progress to the final round of the qualifiers, but need to avoid a heavy defeat against the Atlas Lions.
The warm-up game was also part of Real De Banjul’s preparations for their fifty-year anniversary set for later this year.
It would be recalled that Real De Banjul recently held the Gambia national team to a 1-1 draw in a test match played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
