Gambia U-17Assistant Coach Still Optimistic

Despite loosing most of his key players due to the MRI age test last week in Dakar Senegal, the Assistant Coach of the Gambia National U-17 team, Lamin Sambou, is still optimistic that his team would live up to expectation in the forthcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup, to be hosted in the Federal Republic of Nigeria from October 24th to November 15th 2009.

Assistant Coach Sambou made this remark in an exclusive interview with Pointsport yesterday, at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

He stated that they will not take anything for granted in the championship and they will do all it takes to ensure that the team brings glory to the Gambians at the end of the championship.

According to him, his boys are ready and fit for the tournament. He noted that they are also determined for a glory in the championship and assured all Gambians that his boys are ready to bring more positive results.

He appealed to the Gambians to come out and give support to the team, both morally and financially. As he put it, it would bring more glory to The Gambia.

Commenting on the oversea training camp, Assistant Coach Sambou stated that it always pay dividend to the Gambia U-17 team.
