The Gambia National CHAN team yesterday left Banjul for Bamako prior to their crucial 2018 CHAN qualifiers second-leg clash with Mali on Saturday 22 July 2017 in Bamako.

The home-based Scorpions were held to a goalless draw by the local based-Eagles in the first-leg tie played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau at the weekend.

The Gambia now need a score draw in the second leg in Bamako on Saturday  to advance to the second round of the qualifiers following their goalless draw with Mali in the first leg, but a win for Mali will see them through to the second round of the qualifiers and The Gambia out.

A goalless draw in the second leg in Bamako on Saturday will push the game into a penalty shootout and the winner in the shootout will play against Mauritania or Liberia in the final round of the qualifiers.
