Gambia Cricket Association Tournaments update

2014/ 2015 PRIMARY SCHOOL CRICKET TOURNAMENT CONTINUES

Tuesday 13th St. Joseph’s Lower Basic School played with Wesley Lower Basic School and the toss was won by Wesley Lower Basic School who elected to bat and scored 42 runs in their allotted 15 overs given to them for 10 wickets.

Musa Camara batted for them and scored 12 runs. Musa Camara also bowled 3 overs and took 4 wickets for 15 runs. St. Joseph’s Lower Basic School batted in the second innings and was only able to score 43 runs in 11 overs for 9 wickets, the highest run scorer for them was Musa Mbye with 3 runs and the highest wicket taker was Malang Touray, 3 overs 5 wickets for 4 run. St. Joseph’s Lower Basic School won by 2 runs

Methodist Preparatory were to face St. Mary’s Lower Basic School on Thursday, but they didn’t showed up, and the points were given to St. Mary’s Lower Basic School.

2015 GCA COMMUNITY CRICKET KICKS OFF

The 2015 Community Cricket kicked off on Saturday 18th January at the MRC Cricket grounds in Fajara. A total of 90 schools boys showed up for this maiden competition, which shows the passion of these young players who have vowed to play this beautiful game of cricket.

The occasion was very colourful, the ambiance, the cheering, and support for the two teams really encouraging. The first match saw Banjul City Council Cricket Club lock horns with Mile 7 Cricket Club, in the opening match of the Under 13 category.

The toss was won by Banjul City Council, and chose to field, putting in Mile 7 Cricket Club to bat, and they scored 30 runs for 10 wickets in 12 overs played. Fallou Jobe batted for them and scored 4 runs for them. Jerreh Fatty bowled 1 over for 8 runs.

Banjul City Council batted in the second innings and was able get the set target of 32 runs with 2 batsmen in 3 overs played. Lamin Touray batted for them and scored 12 runs, the highest runs scored for them, and the highest wicket taker was Lamin Touray 3 overs 3 wickets for 9 run. Banjul City Council Cricket Club won their first match by 10 wickets in the Under 13 Junior Boys category.

EBBEH-GI GIRLS CRICKET CLUB REGISTER THEIR FIRST CRICKET VICTORY THEIR OPENING MATCH AGAINST GAMBIA PORTS AUTHORITY GIRL IN THE GIRLS COMMUNITY CRICKET TOURNAMENT

Ebbeh-Gi Girls Cricket Club also registered their first victory on Saturday 18th January in their opening match against Gambia Ports Authority Girls Cricket Club, in the Girls Community Cricket Match played at the MRC cricket grounds. Gambia Ports Authority Girls Cricket Club won the toss and set Ebbeh-Gi Cricket Girls to bat in the first innings. Ebbeh-Gi Girls batted and set their target at 38 runs. The highest wicket taker was Jankeh Njie 2 overs 3 wicket for 10 runs. Gambia Ports Authority Girls chasing 38 run a target score set on them.

In the second innings. they were all out for 18 runs in 5 overs played. Sosseh Sano bowled and took 2 wickets in 3 overs for 19 runs. Ebbeh-Gi Girls Cricket Club won their first match by 20 runs.
