men beach volleyball team has won gold medal at the CAVB continental cup Group
C Men qualifiers Saturday after beating South Sudan 2-0 at Palma Rima beach in
Kololi.
The
Gambian team A opened the proceedings against the South Sudanese team B in a
2-0 victory (21-11, 21-15). In the second match Gambia again emerged with 2-0
(21-18, 21-9) win to beat the visitors 2-0.
Both
countries have qualified to the final stage of the continental cup as three
other participants (Kenya, Botswana and Mauritius) withdrew due to the
coronavirus outbreak.
The
continental cup finals will consist of 8 countries where the winner will
qualify to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo as Africa’s representatives.
Final
results: Gambia A vs South Sudan B 2-0 (21-11, 21-15), while Gambia B vs South
Sudan A 2-0 (21-18, 21-9). Meanwhile in the Final ranking The Gambia goes top
while South Sudan goes second.
