Gambega Limited yesterday celebrated the 125th anniversary of the Coca-Cola Company at a ceremony held at its premises in the Kanifing Industrial Estate.
The ceremony also witnessed the launching of three new Fanta Splash Bottles, which are in three different flavours: Fanta Blackcurrant, Fanta Strawberry, and Fanta Fruit Cocktail.
Speaking at the ceremony, Felix Gomis, Country Manager at Gambega Limited, who spoke on behalf of the Management and Staff of Gambega Limited and Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company, said the occasion was celebrated to also refresh their customers and share happiness with them.
Since the invention of Coca-Cola on 8 May 1886, the company has been able to impact the world and improve the lives and wellbeing of billions of their customers through innovative cultural events and exclusive collaboration with all their customers around the globe.
“We very well recognise the fact that we would not have reached this milestone without those who love our brand, because everyone who has enjoyed Coca-Cola in the past 125 years has played a major part in helping us refresh the world,” Mr Gomis said, adding: “This year, we want to celebrate by thanking the people of The Gambia who have made the brand what it is today in the country.”
Mr Gomis also reiterated Gambega’s “true commitment of partnership with the Coca-Cola Company, its continuous support to the community in which they do business and, their real concern for innovation.
“We Gambega Limited as a company are very much aware of our Corporate Social Responsibility to give back to the community in which we do business,” he said. “We’ve been actively involved in complementing the efforts of the Government over the years by supporting developments areas such as the Environment Sector, the Education Sector, the Youth and Sports Sector, and the Youth and Talent development.”
Mr. Gomis said Gambega Limited, through the leadership of the Coca-Cola Company and Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company, has also set as part of their Corporate Vision and objectives Sustainability goals, the strong commitment of protecting the environment and delivering quality products to their customers as well as constantly focusing on providing their workers with quality standard management and supportive business tools improvement.

Muhammed Sillah, President of the Gambia Manufacturers Association, said manufacturing is the basis of development for a country, while congratulating Gambega Limited on their new brand and wishing them good luck.
Yusupha Sanyang, Deputy Major of the Kanifing Municipal Council, described the day as important even so that the company “is bringing more products to the market”.
“We thank you very much and are very much happy with your efforts,” he said, urging them to keep up the good work and continue to bring more products.
Mrs Baturu Camara-Ceesay, who represented the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Trade, also shared word of appreciation with the company.
