The Gambia Armed Forces were Sunday crowned champions of the male and female categories of the Inter-Security Service Football Competition after beating the Gambia Immigration Department teams in the final of both series at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
The kickoff of the male final, taken by the Army Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. General Masanneh Kinteh, saw the Gambia Armed Forces beat the Gambia Immigration Department by a lone goal courtesy of a Lamin Kanyi goal in the 64th minute.
The Gambia Immigration Department were also thrashed 4-0 by the Gambia Armed Forces in the in female final played earlier.
Kaddy Touray opened the score for the GAF female team just after 6 minutes, while Polina Sambou made it 2-0 in the 13th minute.
Mariama Bojang netted the third goal in the 26th minute to give her side a comfortable 3-0 lead at half time. Polina Sambou’s second strike in the 38th minute of the second half sealed the 4-0 victory for GAF.
