GAF bang Samger to rejuvenate lead in GFF 1st domestic league

Gambia Armed Forces on Sunday thumped Samger 2-0 in the week-seventeen fixtures played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium to extend their lead in the 2016-2017 Gambia Football Federation domestic division one league.

The Soldiers beat Real De Banjul in the mid-week to top the country’s top flight league summit prior to their 2-0 win over the Academy boys to stay on top with 38 points in seventeen games.

The defeat left Samger bottom-place in the top flight with 13 points in sixteen league with a game in hand against defending league champions Gambia Ports Authority.

Real De Banjul beat Brikama United 2-1 at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium to bounce back in contention for the league title after losing to league leaders Gambia Armed Forces in the mid-week.

Elsewhere, Tallinding United defeated Marimoo 1-0 at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium to end the Manjai-based outfit’s nine-match unbeaten run in the top flight.

Real De Banjul are second spot with 35 points in seventeen league matches and Brikama United with 22 points in seventeen league matches.

Tallinding United are now with 21 points in seventeen league matches and Marimoo with 27 points in seventeen league matches.
