Group Four Security known as G4S, one of the leading local security firms operating in The Gambia recently awarded its security guards stationed at the American Embassy in Banjul, at a ceremony presided over by the US Chief Diplomat to The Gambia HE Ambassador Barry L. Wells.
The award ceremony saw the awarding of the most outstanding and the best security guard of the year, to Momodou Jallow, with a cheque for D5, 000.
Speaking at the award ceremony, the United Sates Ambassador to The Gambia Barry L. Wells advised the personnel to always maintain high sense of commitment and respect to duties. He described the role of a local security firm as crucial.
He commended them for demonstrating maturity in their respective posts and urged them to keep up the momentum.
For his part, Bernie De Larclause, the Operational Manger of G4S, said the award ceremony demonstrated the commitment G4S attaches to their guards. The rationale behind the initiative, he added, is to recognise the important role they play in providing security, which he said, is paramount to development.
