Fulbe Association support Interior Female Football team

The Fulbe Association under the distinguished leadership of Maitre Adama Balde in The Gambia, on Friday 4th June, 2010, donated football materials, boots, shocks and footballs to the Interior female football team at a presentation held at the police station in Banjul.

Speaking at the presentation, the personal assistant to the IGP, Commissioner Ebrima Bah said that the support which came so quickly was part of an aspiration from the President of the Fulbe Association, Maitre Adama Balde after watching the Interior football team playing at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

According to him, the President had observed that some of the players are without shoes and even those with shoes are also in need of new ones. Commissioner Bah further expressed gratitude at the gesture, adding that it will take them a long way.

Also speaking, the President, Adama Balde commended the police, noting that "the police are the population and the population are also the police, therefore what ever they are doing the population should come to their aid."

"With regards to football, we are in the universe of football," he added.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police Edward T. Sambou made similar statements.
