Fraud Case Adjourned

The trial of Modou K. Darboe could not proceed last Monday thanks to the absence of defence counsel Borry Toury.

Darboe is standing trial at the Brikama Magistrates' Court on allegations of defrauding and obtaining money by false pretences in the sums of D60, 000, D20, 000 and 20,000 from three individuals. The individuals in question are Seedy Jarra, Ebrima Keita and Momodou S. Jallow. Darboe is alleged to have promised the three that he could take them to Denmark in the name of The Gambia Scout Association to attend the International Scout Jamboree.

The accused however pleaded not guilty.

The case was adjourned to December 15thfollowing the prosecution request to adjourn the case.
