The Kanifing Magistrates' Court presided over by Magistrate George recently convicted and sentenced one Abdoukarim John to a fine of D1000 in default to serve three months in prison after he was found guilty for stealing fowls.
In passing the sentence, Magistrate George stated that the convict had shown remorse of his action, coupled with the fact that he was a first time offender and did not waste the court time.
The convict in his plea of mitigation begged the court to temper justice with mercy.
It could be recalled that the convict on 20th June 2009 entered into one Mass Wadda's compound and stole two fowls valued at D300.00.
