Momodou Jallow, Cherno Sallah, Salieu Barry and Ahmad Tijan Jallow were recently arraigned before Principal Magistrate Ikpala of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court, charged with unlawful dealing in foreign currency, a charge they all denied.
According to the charge sheet, the accused persons, on 3rd November 2009, at Serrekunda, Bambo and Westfield areas in the Kanifing Municipality were unlawfully found engaging in foreign currency dealing without licences from the Central Bank of The Gambia, a manner injurious to the economy of The Gambia.
Meanwhile, the accused persons were remanded in custody at the Mile II State Central Prison.
