Fortune on Friday beat Yarambamba 1-0 in a well-contested league finals match played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium to rule Brikama.

The Farato-based outfit beat the New Yundum-based outfit 2-0 to clinch the knock-out title thanks to prolific striker Patrick Silva’s brace last month.

Yarambamba came for revenge against Fortune, but were beaten for the second time.

Fortune opened the scores through winger Masanneh Ceesay in the 12th minute of the game from SambujangTouray’s marathon throw to give them the lead.

Midfielder Assan Njie came very close to extending the lead for Fortune in the 18th minute of the game, but his excellent header went over the bar.

Lamin Jarju could have levelled the scores for Yarambamba in the 20th minute of the game, but his shot went wide.

Prolific striker Patrick Silva sealed the victory in the 22nd minute of the game, after capitalizing on an error of Yarambamba goalkeeper Lamin Danjo, to fire home the second goal.

Yarambamba fought back and managed to pull back one goal through talisman Omar aka Drogba in the 74th minute of the game, from a powerful header, which eventually proved to be a consolation goal for the New Yundum-based outfit.

As the champions, Fortune went home with a giant trophy and cash prize of D40, 000. Yarambamba received D30, 000 as runners-up.
