Lawyer
Tambedou, who announced his representation for the former Manjai Kunda alkalo,
Momodou Lamin Camara, sued by Lena Gomez for selling her land, demolishing her
house and killing her pigs, yesterday told the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court he
was objecting to the suit filed by the plaintiff.
He argued that the court lacked the jurisdiction to hear the case.
As a result, Magistrate Jobarteh adjourned the case till 3 April 2014, after the defendant’s counsel told the court that he was going to file his briefs.
Earlier, Lawyer Tambedou, on the last adjourned date, told the court he was just coming into the case and would like to pursue the case file to advise himself whether he would proceed with the case.
It would be recalled that the plaintiff, Lena Gomez, had already testified and called witnesses. The former Alkalo, Momodou Lamin Camara, also had testified and called his first witness to testify.
The court was expecting his second witness to testify only to hear Lawyer Tambedou announced his representation for the defendant.
