Police prosecutors have pressed criminal charges against the former General Manager and former Assistant General Manager of KGI International, Dr. Gass Jaiteh-Njie and Mr. Henny Mousa, respectively.

The two are standing trial at the Banjul Magistrates' Court before Principal Magistrate Emmanuel Nkea, charged with conspiracy to commit a felony and making documents without authority.

However, the second accused person, Dr. Gass Jaiteh-Njie was not present at yesterday's court sitting, as she was said to be at large.

The case, which was adjourned for cross-examination by defence counsel, Lawyer Tambedou, could not proceed yesterday, because of the absence of the prosecution witness.

The prosecuting officer, Inspector Keita, told the court that the prosecution had tried to bring the witness to court for cross-examination, but it was not possible.

Subsequently, the trial magistrate adjourned the case to April 5th 2010.

The particulars of the offence on count one revealed that in the month of March 2009, in the city of Banjul, the accused persons conspired to change name of business ownership from KGI to Dr. HG Jaiteh-Njie.

On count two, the offence alleged was that the accused persons in the month of March 2009, in Banjul and diverse places, made documents without authority.

Count three stated that in the same place and time the accused persons knowingly presented a request for a change of name of the business, on behalf of KGI, without authority.
