At yesterday's hearing of the appeal case before Justice Wowo, the State Counsel Marley Wood, informed the court that she had not yet finished going through the records of proceedings and therefore applied for an adjournment.
Lawyer Musa Batchilly, representing the applicant, did not object to the State Counsel's applicationaccording to him he wanted the court to have a clear picture of the case.
It would be recalled that the applicant, Kawsu Ceesay,
former Chief Electoral Officer at the Independent Electoral Commission was
convicted by the Kanifing Magistrates' Court for forging the signature of the
former IEC chairman Mr Ndondi Njie.
He was convicted and sentenced to a fine of D50,000 in default to serve three months imprisonment.
The present case has been adjourned to
