Former AG Appeals Against Paul Commission's Recommendation

Pap Cheyassin Ousman Secka, former Attorney General and Secretary of State for Justice, is appealing against the recommendation of the Paul's Commission of Enquiry at the Court of Appeal.

He told a three-member panel of judges of the Court of Appeal that he had filed three motions, which he served to the State respondent.

The State respondent confirmed that they had been served with the applicant's motions but applied to be given time to study them.

It will be recalled that a commission of enquiry was established in 2004 to look into the activities of public officials from 1994 to 2004.

The Commission of Enquiry which was chaired by Justice M.A Paul after it findings, recommended that certain landed properties belonging to the applicant Cheyassin Ousman Secka be returned to State.

The case was adjourned to 4th November 2008.
