The Gambia Football Federation has lauded new champions Steve Biko for winning their first-ever league title recently after making a tight defending of their lead on the league table all the way.
The Bakau outfit refused to give in to last year winners Real De Banjul, who are also among the veterans in the Gambian football league.
The message from the Gambia Football Federation signed by Marchel Mendy, Acting-Secretary General, reads: “Following your magnificent performance in the 2012/2013 football season that culminated in you winning the Gamtel/Gamcel League, the Executive of the Gambia Football Federation has directed me to express its satisfaction with your performance and congratulate you on the achievement.
“While I congratulate you on this remarkable success, I urge you to maintain the momentum.
“Congratulations once more!”
