According to information monitored by Entertainment, Musa Njie alias Flying Lion passed away last Monday. He was laid to rest the very day in Latrikunda. Thousands of people including relatives and friends attended the funeral and called at his home to pay their condolences. Musa Njie was working with Paradise FM, where he was regarded as one of the strong pillars of the commercial radio station. Flying Lion was fondly called "While" when he was with his former crew, Penchabi Crew, which released three-albums, all recorded at Yellow Gate Studios.
After releasing their first album, Flying Lion and Penchabi Crew went on a countrywide tour as part of the promotion of the album. Musa Njie and crew were also featured in the compilation called Kairo Songs of The Gambia, which gives an overview of music in The Gambia. His group featured ex-radio comedians like Amie Cherry, local rappers and a Senegalese singer. Their tracks also featured a mixture of R and B, rap-reggae and mbalax, blended with some African sounds.
