Liege Sowe who was charged with conspiracy, cattle stealing and possession of fire arms and ammunition was recently convicted and sentenced by Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh of the Brikama Magistrates' Court to five years, one month imprisonment.
After admitting the charges, the convict begged the court to temper justice with mercy on him as he is a family man with a wife and kids.
According to Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh, stealing and cattle theft was becoming too rampant in Brikama. He said what the accused person did was very serious and therefore he will send a signal to others who are involving in such acts.
He finally sentenced the accused to 5 years, 1 month imprisonment on all counts and the sentence is to run concurrently.
