Reports reaching The Point from URR have revealed that a fire incident that took place last Thursday in that part of the country destroyed the compound of one Sainey Sidibeh.
According to the Sare Ngai Ward Councillor and resident of the village, Alkally Kebbeh, the incident, which happened at 2pm, destroyed three houses and a store. "Among the things burnt into ashes were foodstuffs, clothes and beds," he said.
Councillor Kebbeh is therefore appealing to the government and philanthropists to come to the aid of the poor family, who, he said, is in a "very desperate situation".
According to sources, the fire emanated from a farmland next to the compound and caught the bundles of grass beside the houses before burning them.
