Oct 25, 2010, 3:14 PM

The Gambia Football Association, in collaboration with Fifa, will conduct an intermediate training course for female coaches starting today at the National Technical Training Centre in Yundum, barely one week after a three-day seminar on women's football.

According to Abdou Salaam Jammeh, GFA Assistant Secretary General, Fifa provides technical courses to member associations based on their current level of progress in the women's game, thus helping them move up the development ladder by providing them with the tools to improve on a step-by-step basis, and the Yundum tailor-made training for women football coaches will provide quality and performance benchmark for the female coaches.

The five-day technical course will bring together 25 female coaches from the first and second division clubs in The Gambia.

The principal aim of the training programme is to enhance the technical capacity of the female football coaches.

The course will be directed by Madam Jacqueline Shipanga, Fifa Instructor from Namibia.

The acting-president of the Gambia National Olympic Committee will deliver a keynote speech at the official opening ceremony in Yundum.
