Brikama thumped Brufut 2-0 in the opening game played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium on Sunday.
On the other hand, Gunjur, who lost to Serrekunda West 5-0 on Monday, knew that a defeat against Brikama would dash their chances of qualifying for the semi-final but were upset in the midfield by Brikama, who enjoyed the lion’s share of ball possession and scored five spectacular goals to snatch their second successive victory in the competition.
Gunjur’s 5-0 dent was their second successive defeat. They now need only a win to be able to stand a better chance of qualifying for the semi-final.
The victory, meanwhile, has sent Brikama to the semi-final with a maximum of 6 points in two games.
Elsewhere, Bakau beat Serrekunda Central 2-0 in a group B encounter played at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium on Tuesday.
Bakau are leading group B with 3 points in one game, while Serrekunda Central are at the bottom with zero point in one outing.
