Father denies raping daughter

One Seedy Faye, accused of raping his daughter, yesterday denied the three-count charge pressed against him by the state, before Justice Emmanuel Ahmadi of the special criminal court in Banjul.

When the charges were read to him in open court, he denied them and was subsequently remanded at the remand wing of the state central prisons Mile 2.

The case was adjourned to 21 July 2014, for continuation.

Seedy Faye was charged with raping his daughter, with causing the death of the newly-born baby of his daughter, and with having carnal knowledge of his daughter.

The state in count one accused Seedy Faye, that between 2012 and 2013 in the Kanifing Municipality, he unlawfully caused the death of the newly-born baby of the victim by strangling the baby.

In count two, Seedy Faye was accused of unlawfully having carnal knowledge of an under-age girl without her consent.

Seedy Faye in count three was charged with unlawfully having carnal knowledge of his 17-years-old daughter.
