Falcons FC have made it to the next stage of the ongoing Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation (SESDO) Nawetan Competition following their 1-1 draw with R.S.L Zurich FC in the final group stage game played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on Saturday 28 September 2013.

The keenly-contested encounter saw Muhammed Conteh put Falcons FC ahead in the 56th minute of the game from a brilliant header but skipper Buba Sama leveled the score for R.S.L Zurich FC in the 71st minute from a sensible finish to ensure his side collects a point to avoid being relegated.

Falcons FC have collected 5 points from 3 encounters to advance to the next stage of the competition, while R.S.L Zurich FC have bagged 2 points from 3 games to avoid being relegated from the Nawetan proper.

Speaking to Pointsports shortly after the game, Jim Kebbeh, head coach of Falcons FC, expressed disappointment with collecting a point at the end of the game, saying the goal they conceded was “very bad”.

He added that his boys initially took the lead and were in control of the match but did not maintain concentrate for the whole 90 minutes.

The lack of concentration from his side cost them the three points, he said, adding that looking at the quality of players at their disposal they should have collected the maximum points.

Collecting 5 points from the group stage, he also remarked, was good in one way but looking at the quality of his squad they should have collected maximum 9 points from the group stage.

He said they would go back to the drawing board to continue working hard on themselves to be able to go on winning their coming games.

He thanked the fans for leaving their work and engagements and coming to support the team, saying their support will motivate the players to go the extreme.
