Essa
Sambou has been unveiled as the caretaker coach of Bombada FC, after Lamin
Anthony Ceesay was appointed as the club’s new technical director.
Coach
Sambou has guided Brikama United to their first-ever domestic division one
league title, in the 2010-2011 season.
Coach Sambou was fired as Brikama United head
coach in 2012 after his side’s 1-0 defeat to Senegalese Premier League side US
Ouakam, in the first leg of the 2012 CAF champions league tie played at the
Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.
Sambou
was part of coach Lamin Anthony Ceesay’s back room prior to his appointment as
the caretaker coach of the Brikama-based outfit.
Bombada
are currently languishing bottom place in the country’s top flight league, with
only 3 points in seven league matches after losing six matches and winning one.
It
would be recalled that Ceesay has guided Bombada FC to the West Coast Region third division qualifiers, and gained promotion to
the second division in 2012-2013 season; spending one season in the second tier
before gaining promotion to the top flight, in the 2014-2015 season, before his
appointment as the club’s new technical director.
