Oumie
Sise-Sallah, chairperson of Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI)
start-up chapter committee, Tuesday described entrepreneurs as the biggest bold
risk takers.
She
made this statement during a speech on the first edition of national start-ups
forum held at a local hotel in Kololi.
Mrs.
Sallah said undertaking thorough review or analysis of any plan or business
activity is advisable, but over thinking and scrutinizing every detail to play
safe in business could lead to the stagnation of business, the most successful
entrepreneurs are the biggest risk takers.
“No
successful business starts with a smooth ride. Successful businesses, if not
all, have gone through very trying times. However, when you go through
inevitable periods, do not give up, re-strategize and move head on,” she said.
She
said it is imperative that start-up entrepreneurs take example from those who
are ahead of them, adding that they should gather experiences from experienced
entrepreneurs which will eventually help transfer their knowledge in order to
help them develop their business scale. “Knowledge sharing is very important in
scaling a business and growing an economy.”
Founder
of Tropingo Foods, Momaar Taal urged start-ups to be courageous and to always
interact with other entrepreneurs around the globe, saying courage and honesty
can help better their businesses.
