The event, which ran from 30 May to 7 June 2008 under the distinguished Chief Patronage of His Excellency President Dr Alhaji YahyaJammeh, is designed to promote and develop our rich cultural heritage and diverse traditions of the different ethnic groups of the sub region.
Featuring cultural troupes from The Gambia and its neighbouring countries, the festival was characterised by mystical performances, music, dance and drama. Renowned musical giants in the sub- region also attended and participated in the event.
