Employee arraigned for alleged theft

One Abdou Karim Jabang of Brufut Village was on 9th December 2009, arraigned at the Bundung Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Lamin George, charged with stealing by servant or clerk, a charge he denied.

According to the charge sheet, between 2006 to 2009 at Brufut Village by virtue of his employment as a mechanical engineer working for Mr. Jean Weitzenburger, allegedly stole five solar panels, valued at D25, 000, a borehole water pump, valued at D17, 000, one pump water fall toolbar, valued at D2, 000, and a half bag of 'led buld', valued at D5, 000.

Meanwhile, he was granted a court bail in the sum of D60, 000 with two Gambia sureties.

The case was adjourned to 15th December 2009.
