As the winner of the prestigious prize, Ebrima received the latest high-profile cell phone as his badge of honour for his heroic performance.

The Caf delegation headed by Almamy Kapele Camara, visited the team at the Southern Sun Hotel in Johannesburg on Friday and commended the players and team officials for their attractive football, which was a "delightful to watch".

The Caf presidential representative commended the Government of The Gambia and the Gambia Football Association (GFA) under the dynamic and youthful leadership of Seedy Buwa Kinteh, for the excellent organisation of the extraordinary General Assembly of the West African Football Union (WAFU) held in Banjul on 8 and 9 April 2011.

The tournament in South Africa will not only be sporting success for The Gambia as a growing and well respected footballing country, but will also be of capital importance to the players and their teams, as football agents from Europe are hunting for the signatures of players to enable them to play in Europe.
