Drug case resumes

The drug trial involving one Sulayman Keita, charged with drug trafficking and dealing in prohibited drug, Saturday resumed at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate N. Samateh.

When the matter was called, the accused, Sulayman Keita, told the court that his defence counsel, Lamin K. Mboge, was indisposed and asked the court to grant him an adjournment, which was granted.

The matter was adjourned till 26 July 2014.

The accused, Sulayman Keita, was charged with being in possession of prohibited drug for the purpose of trafficking contrary to the drug control Act

The particulars of offence in count one stated that the accused, Sulayman Keita, on 11 March 2013, at New Yundum, Kombo North, West Coast Region, had in possession 29kg,380g of cannabis sativa, a prohibited drug and thereby committed an offence.

Count two stated that on the same day, month and year and at the same place, he acquired or possessed 29kg, 380g, a prohibited drug and thereby committed an offence.
