The drug case involving one Ousman Njie continued recently at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.
Saikou Jeng, after telling the court that he is a narcotics officer, said he recognised the accused person.
He recalled the 14th day of September 2011, while he was on duty at the Serrekunda NDEA station, saying he was assigned for weighing of suspected cannabis in the presence of the accused person.
He said a certificate was issued, which the accused person signed and he also endorsed it.
Samples of the drug were taken to the Medical Department and a certificate was issued confirming it to be suspected cannabis, he added.
Hearing continues on 5 June 2012.
