One Sulayman Barry was Monday
arraigned before Magistrate Jeng of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, charged
with rash and negligent act, causing death.
He denied the charge and was granted court bail of D25,000 with two Gambian sureties who must swear to an affidavit of means, and deposit their valid ID cards.
According to the particulars of offence, the defendant, Sulayman Barry, on 30 April 2013, at Old Yundum village, along the AU Highway, drove a motor vehicle with registration number BJL 0981A, a Benz Gele Gele, without due care and attention, and thereby knocked down one Jammeh Jobarteh, causing his death.
The case continues on 26 June 2013.
