A driver was recently arraigned before Magistrate Edward Singhateh of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, charged with rash and negligent act causing death.
Gibril Jallow pleaded not guilty of the charge and was granted court bail of D20,000 with two Gambian sureties.
The charge sheet read that on 5 June 2011, along trans-Gambia Highway in Pirang Village, Kombo East, West Coast Region, the defendant, Gibril Jallow, drove a motor vehicle with registration number GRA in a rash and negligent manner, thereby causing the death of one Ebrima Jallow and Abdou Jallow.
The case was then adjourned till 6 July 2011.
