Gambian Tiger Woods, as he is widely called, finished the competition with 3 under par (a medal score of 136 in 36 holes) in the professional category.
As champion of the 3-day competition, Drammeh received a cash prize of 500 Euros.
Dodou Kassama came second with a medal score of 138 - level par thus received a cash prize of 400 Euros.
Yusupha Tamba took third position with a medal score of 140 and therefore went home with a cash prize of 300 Euros.
Gibou Jallow occupied fourth position with a medal score of 143 and was rewarded with a cash prize of 200 Euros.
Gambian-Swedish professional golfer Lamin Touray finished fifth with a medal score of 146 and received 100 Euros in the process.
The Longest Drive award went to Dodou Kassama while Steve Lie Sehgorgus won the men’s Nearest to the Pin prize.
In the Men’s handicaps 2-18, Yusupha Conteh emerged winner with 42 points, thus defending the title he won last year.
Allen Collins took second position with 38 points while Harry Cuicuester finished third with 37 points.
In the men’s 19-28 handicap category, Terry Seager finished first with 46 points.
Joe Turner occupied second position with 43 points while Colin Crorkin secured third position with 39 points.
In the ladies category, Tracey Horton came out the winner with 44 points. She was followed second position by Inga Adlington who got 39 points. Ade Le Koetye took third position with 33 points.
All amateur winners were rewarded with materials such as golf sets, individual clubs and golf bags.
Field workers were also rewarded with cash prizes as a form of appreciation for their work.
The 2016 Qatar Cup was held from 5 to 7 February 2016 at the Fajara Golf Course, under the generous sponsorship of the Embassy of Qatar in Banjul.
The annual tournament is being organised by the Fajara Club Golf Committee, in partnership with the Embassy of Qatar and the Gambia Golf Association.
This was the 3rd edition of the Qatar Cup which has grown bigger from year to year, in terms of number of players and sponsorship.
The popularity of the tournament has gone beyond the borders of The Gambia, as 6 participants came from outside the country to participate in the competition which is one of the major tournaments this year.
Ambassador of the Embassy of the State of Qatar to The Gambia Mohamed Nasser Al-Kaabi, speaking during the prize or award giving session, said they aim to make the tournament bigger next year in terms of prizes for professionals as well as the participation of amateurs.
They intend to make it the Qatar Open next year, he added.
Ambassador Al-Kaabi said he was delighted with 6 participants coming from outside The Gambia to take part in the tournament.
He noted that it is important to have different players from various countries to participate in the competition and show their experience.
The price giving sports event was attended by the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Hon. Omar Sey, Minister of Tourism Hon. Benjamin Roberts, National Sports Council executive director Marcel Mendy, GGA president Ebrima Jawara, Turkish Ambassador to The Gambia, Indian Councillor to The Gambia, British High Commissioner to The Gambia among other high profile dignitaries and golf lovers.
