Mr. Henry Gomez, leader of Gambia People Democratic Party (GPDP), has expressed the view the President's Dialogue with the People tour has nothing to do with politics.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with these reporters, Mr. Gomez said that the purpose of President Jammeh's Dialogue with the people tour is to meet the people, know their problems and shortcomings and find solutions to them. According to the GPDP leader, meeting the people is not meant to be a platform for political propaganda.

He commended President Jammeh for what he called his dynamism in going out to meet the people and know their problems.

Commenting on the President's call for people to go back to the land, Mr. Gomez lauded the idea but added that there should be proper mechanisms in place to enable farmers harvest and sell their produce on time. He went further to express the need for the Agriculture sector to be revisited in order to ensure greater productivity on an annual basis.

Mr. Gomez commended President Jammeh for taking his time to embark on Dialogue with the People tour which, he added, is really commendable. "We at the Gambia People Democratic Party have seen and recognised the development aspirations of President Jammeh and his government", he concluded.
